The beginning of my year was so rocky! SO many things changed and happened for my little family and I took a 2 MONTH hiatus! I was so excited to get back on the photography horse so to speak with this sweet sweet family. Here's a little taste of their session for you to enjoy! Come on spring and all the goodness in it!
Holiday mini sessions are one of the only times in the year I open up bookings to families and large groups. I love mini sessions they are always fun and festive! Here are some of my favorite images from this years minis!
I hit it off with this couple from the first email! Loreen is so sweet and spunky and I just knew this was going to be one of the best couples I've ever shot. There is something about a couple who is a little older, they know what they want out of a relationship, a wedding, and a photographer and I am so glad I fit the bill! I think one of the sweetest parts of this couples story is the fact that they BOTH bought a ring to propose to the other! That's right they both have an engagement ring, how cute is that?! Dave and Loreen are having a halloween soiree wedding next year. When we initially sat down Dave had the idea of doing some of their images in a cemetery, Loreen really thought he was crazy but he got my creative wheels turning. I love when a couple comes to me with a challenge instead of the typical local places that everyone gets their pictures taken at. I immediately jumped on the band wagon and said if that's what you want let's do it. So we did! And I think we grabbed some breath taking images. First let me say that we did not disrupt or harm any graves in this creative process, and also for those who are wondering, no I did not see any odd things in the images we captured, ghosts aren't real. Oh did I mention the Harley?? Well this Harley is Dave's baby and when we planned this session he wanted a metaphoric picture of them riding off into their future and leaving the past behind. So we made that a reality. (See the bottom photo) Loreen wanted some other great photos with the Harley too, because if you're gonna clean it you may as well get a ton of photos with it.... I truly CAN NOT wait for this couples special day! They are so sweet and I am so privileged to be a part of their happily ever after!
I was so blessed to be a part of this fair! I am a big advocate of have options for women besides abortion and this fair raises funds for the Morning Center which is a crisis pregnancy resource for women in our area and in other areas where they operate. I had so much fun meeting all the amazing vendors and shoppers at this event and it will definitely be one that I participate with again! Here's a peek into my day!
This sweet family is one of my favorites to capture! They are a good friends and always so much fun to be around. Their little family has a big change coming soon as they become a navy family and I am so glad I was able to capture them before this dad and father ships out for basic training in January. I hope you enjoy their amazing smiles and fun loving spirits like I do!
If there was one word to describe this couple it would be fun! They are such a joy to be around, and they are very comfortable being themselves. We had so much fun joking and playing and posing for their session and I think the results are stunning.
I had the privilege last week of being a part of the KCC Sale at Expo Gardens as a vendor and as the resident photographer for the weekend. Here are a few of the shots I captured at the sale. Look for me out and about in the community more and more through the next year, Starting with the Pro Life Holiday Fair on November 5th at the Bethany Baptist Church!
There are some sessions that I shoot because I just really want to! This was one of them. I know both of these lovely girls via a good friend who is a sister to one and a sister in law to the other. These lovely mamas have known each other for a very long time and when I approached them about a double maternity shoot they were all in! We shot at a beautiful park in Pekin, IL and the light and scenery was quite literally perfect. Oh, did I mention the horse barn? Yeah we got to take photos with horses! SO AMAZING! We were getting close to sunset when Emma broke out this dress for a few last minute shots. I have to say I am absolutely IN LOVE with these late evening images and how incredibly soft and magical they turned out! Enjoy!
Since making the move to wedding and senior photography only I accept other kinds of photography on a limited basis. This session was to promote the fall mini sessions I am currently booking. Only in the fall do I open up mini sessions for families and other session types. These sessions sell quickly and keep me busy for the last few months of the year. The preview session is always fun because it is a single session ahead of time to help other people envision what their photos could look like. This family is the sweetest and I so love working with them! We had a great time taking these photos and I hope you enjoy them! Book your own family session today for amazing memories!
This wedding was so intimate and beautiful. This couple didn't want a big ado, they just wanted to be married and that made this one of the most touching weddings I've ever photographed. When I arrived the bride and groom were waiting inside the church with the grooms mother. We were waiting on the bride's parents to arrive. The bride made a call to make sure they found where we were and knew where to park. They double checked that everything was right on their marriage certificate and we waited. Once the bride's parents arrived we all headed out to the pavilion where the ceremony would take place. The parent's of the bride and groom leading the way and the bride and groom walking hand in hand. The love that filled the pavilion was tangible. Both bride and groom completely ready to be together forever. The people who love them most in the whole world looking on as two lives became one. The thing that struck me most about this beautiful day was the reaction of the parents after the ceremony was complete. I truly felt I was watching two families as they blended together. No longer was there two distinct groups but one group. I wouldn't have been able to tell you where one ended and the other began. I was truly blessed to be a part of this day. I am so grateful that Eddie and Michelle asked me to capture these memories for them. Never have I captured two people more ready to spend forever together for all the right reasons. Happily ever after to the new Mr. and Mrs. Ordaz!
